X-41
Hull – Quality in construction Her hull, keel and rudder configuration gives the helmsman a very light and direct feel of the yacht, and she responds immediately to minor corrections. The X-41 is not only a serious racing performer but also a comfortable cruiser. The optional anchor box, including electrical anchor windlass and chain, can be removed within minutes. The optional sprayhood is also quickly and easily removed. The optional deck recessed furling headsail system is great for cruising, but can quickly be removed and replaced for a dedicated racing forestay.
X-Yachts has concentrated hard, and without compromise, on details that work for both racing and cruising alike. The growing international fleet is proof that they succeeded. X-Yachts’ designers are still as passionate about the creation of performance yachts as they were in 1979 when the company was founded. More than 6,000 boats have been built since then and all that experience went into the creation of the X-41. X-Yachts has designed a boat that can bear the load of tough offshore racing while also performing efficiently in light winds. • Narrow and smooth hull lines, combined with the deep T-keel, make her easy to get into “overdrive mode” The foils are designed in-house, ensuring the X-41 rudder is a custom fit for the hull shape, underwater profile and sail plan. The rudder is designed for optimum ‘grip’ and maximum ‘feel’, giving responsive, reliable handling in all conditions and on all points of sail, and is constructed using high quality alloy stocks for a slim profile offering reduced resistance and underwater drag. The X-41 has sleeping accommodation for eight persons, and will comfortably take a family of four out on a summer holiday cruise. The mahogany interior gives the saloon a welcoming feeling, and the forward double cabin is roomy and has additional storage below the berth and in the wardrobe. The interior of the X-41 is modern, light and airy. The white surfaces are easy to maintain and the opening ports and hatches ensure good ventilation. All furniture is made of carefully selected, hand-polished teak with a satin finish, providing a warm and elegant look that will keep its pristine appearance for years to come. This is a racer that is a pleasure to live aboard. The X-41 is designed with a classic and functional interior layout. Using the very latest 3D design programs, X-Yachts designers, engineers and technicians have been able to create a yacht where no space is wasted. The systems of the X-41 might be concealed from view, but they were incorporated into the yacht’s design and construction planning from the very outset. Every cable and pipe run is fully modeled in 3D to ensure that the system can be simply installed – and easily accessed for servicing at a later date. Piping for all the water systems on board run in dedicated service trays and channels. Custom-built high volume tanks for diesel fuel and water maximise the space usage underneath the saloon berths, and are also designed to optimise weight distribution by ensuring the fluids are carried low down in the hull. X-41
The use of heat galvanised steel to create a support structure for the mast and keel was pioneered by X-Yachts in 1981. Since then the Danish yard has produced more than 6,000 yachts featuring this technology and has won worldwide recognition for the strength of their designs.
